Wheelbreaker | Humans

Turn js on, I need it to do stuff that could be done from the server if I ran the place myself.

IDK what to put here, you is humans. You know what they are.

Humans in wheelbreaker are unique in their tolerance of almost any climate. As a result humans can live almost anywhere that another race can and so they usually do. If there is an orken world you probably will not find many kobolds living there, but you will find humans. For this reason much of human culture and language has found its way into the urban populations of most cultures and their language is the base for a large portion of hedgerow. There do exist several cultures that are mostly composed of humans and a rundown of those cultures is as follows:

Whenever the Hiifafa are guessing or making an approximation and they give an upper and lower value for the guess they always say the upper value first. They primarily live on Disks outside of cities, dome or otherwise and generally keep to themselves. This is not to say that they are unkind to outsiders but rather that they have a conservative understanding on personal boundaries. They tend to not volunteer information that another person doesn't want to hear and they don't ask to hear information that another person doesn't want to tell, leading to a distinctly Hiifafan privacy. When they converse they are blunt and their language is not overly flowery. Brevity is a high virtue for them and while clarity is important some things can be left well enough alone after the first few words on the matter. Considering this many nimbus-dwellers might take them for isolated agrarians but they tend to live in fairly dense communities with all the amenities you would expect from a small town.

The Vawo and the Hiifafa appear to all outside observers to be identical in culture, language, tradition, and general look but by methods entirely unknown they are able to sort each other into the separate groups even for people they have never met before. This distinction is in no way derogatory however as they consider their peoples to be brothers and great friends to each other. They are both relatively cosmopolitan cultures for how rural they are and the non-human folks are more easily distinguished if you know a bit about the history of the place you happen to be in. If you purchase bug coffee there was a good chance either the Hiifafa or the Vawo produced it.

Ow'sla are an older human culture of folks who live in artificial habs strewn near sections of bifrost that runs by the Redac Voids. They travel a lot in small sublight ships between habs. They have dark skin and a different selection of standard eye colours when compared to other humans which include red, brown, violet, hazel, and orange. They have diverged from baseline humanity enough that they are unable to properly digest most meats and are largely vegetarian as a result.

Zagazar is a culture found within the Valo-Kav'watova League of Houses. They are a collection of old human navigator guild houses who staff a large number of FTL ships. Because subjective time for those on the ships is slower they are considered a very old culture to the disks they fly near but to themselves they only have a history going back a tenth of the generations. For the Zagazaril the narrative is everything and they collect stories from passengers on their ships. They value good stories more than anything and will often accept a story as payment instead of cash for non-corporate clients. They intricately decorate their skin with the story of their house as well as with stories of their own lives using a combination of tattoos and chemical scaring. The markings on their faces generally tell you their house name, family name, their name, and their position within their immediate nuclear family/household. The style of these markings is generally indicative of of age as styles change over time. The style of the markings also reflects the style of any artists within the family itself, with some families being especially notable for the artistry they display.

Merfolk are humans who have formed a compact to magically bond themselves to sea dragons in a manner similar to how kobolds were bound to dragons prior to the kobold slave revolts. Merfolk are generally very reclusive and live in colder oceans. Their draconic masters are very hands off and largely only care about material safety and fine curation of their horde and will let their subjects conduct business however their subjects feel is best. Merfolk draw significant magical power from the consumption of blood and they will journey to the surface to feed on other humans. Feeding allows them to extend their lives far in excess of normal humans which provides them ample time for perfecting various art forms from painting to poetry to sculpting, composition, and playing any number of common and obscure instruments. Merfolk and Volagog do not live in the same oceans and Merfolk do not live in nimbus cities.

Men of Fire are humans who have fused their souls together. This is the same process used by the Forgeborne but both primitive in execution and limited to only humans. In the narrative present Men of Fire are no longer produced and most of them are dead. The notable example, and possible the only example, of a living Man of Fire is the Queen in Marble
